Role: Lead Presentation Designer and Art Director, Brand
At Zillow, I joined the Brand Design team to help shape how the company’s refreshed identity comes to life across employee, partner, and event experiences. As a Contract Brand Designer, I led the creative application of Zillow’s new brand system across internal communications, environmental design, and key cultural moments such as Zillow Unlock—the company’s flagship agent conference in Las Vegas. I helped evolve the creative framework for Zillow Unlock—translating a complex, multi-audience conference into a unified visual system flexible enough for technical production, on-site environments, and digital storytelling.

EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE

Zillow set out to create a flagship event that could unite multiple audiences—employees, partners, and agents—under a single, cohesive brand experience. Each group had its own goals, expectations, and content needs, making it difficult to establish a unified visual language that felt relevant and engaging across the board. With a refreshed brand system in development and a large-scale conference like Zillow Unlock on the horizon, the team needed a flexible design framework that could work seamlessly across stage environments, digital screens, wayfinding, internal communications, and vendor handoffs. The challenge was to translate Zillow’s evolving identity into an event experience that felt elevated, consistent, and powerful from the main stage to the smallest touchpoint.
The Soulution
I developed a comprehensive event design system that brought clarity, cohesion, and scalability to every aspect of the experience. Working closely with Brand, Experiential, and Production teams, I expanded Zillow’s new brand language into a modular kit-of-parts—color, typography, layout rules, motion cues, and environmental treatments—that could flex across technical production, on-site environments, and digital storytelling. This system allowed multiple teams and external vendors to build from the same creative foundation, ensuring visual consistency across all formats. The result was a unified, high-impact event identity that elevated the Unlock experience, strengthened Zillow’s brand expression, and empowered audiences to engage more deeply with the content, insights, and culture of the conference.

Zillow Agent Unlock Event Style Guide
The Zillow Agent Unlock Event Style Guide, was created as a comprehensive visual framework to align Zillow’s brand, internal teams, and technical production partners around one cohesive design system. Rooted in the event’s narrative pillars—Journeys, Connection, and Transformation—the guide establishes a unified creative language that can flex across stage design, scenic, motion graphics, digital content, signage, and environmental branding.
Working closely with the Zillow Experiential Design team, I helped codify the event’s core visual elements, from the 135º line system that symbolizes paths converging and diverging to the color architecture mapping content types to distinct palettes. We built a modular kit that production vendors could easily interpret, enabling consistency across mediums without limiting creative expression. The final guide serves as both a blueprint and springboard—providing structure while encouraging thoughtful exploration in how the event story is brought to life across spaces, formats, and experiences.
